Thank You from APOYOnline for a Successful Campaign To Support Cuban Colleagues!
After a successful initiative in October 2017, APOYOnline requested further support from the preservation community to compile supplies for Cuban institutions recovering from recent hurricanes. The preservation community did not disappoint, and we at APOYOnline would like to express our profound thanks to the following institutions and groups for their generous donations to our second campaign to support Cuban preservation professionals:
National Postal Museum
Museum of Fine Arts, Boston
American Institute for Conservation
RISD Museum – Museum of Art – Rhode Island School of Design
Bookmakers International Ltd
Conservators in private practice
Especial thank you Anisha Gupta for compiling the list of materials received
During our March 2018 trip to Havana, which included a pioneering four-day photograph preservation workshop, donations were distributed to Casa Natal José Martí, Museo de Marianao, Museo de la Música, Academia de Ciencias, Fundación Antonio Núñez Jiménez, Museo de la Habana del Este, Literatura y Lingüística, Biblioteca Pedagógica, OSPI, Fototeca del OHC (Oficina del Historiador de Cuba), Instituto de Historia, Archivo CIFO VEIGA, Biblioteca Rubén Martínez Villena, Biblioteca Nacional, Archivo Nacional, IDICT (Instituto de Información Científica y Tecnológica), and Casa de las Américas.
Your donations have positively impacted recovery efforts in Cuba, and we hope you will continue to support APOYOnline’s mission to promote the preservation of cultural heritage in the Americas.
