In 1989 the name APOYO was first used as the title of a newsletter distributing information in Spanish about the preservation of cultural heritage.
To respond to the continuous need of strengthening this professional network, the APOYO group reorganized and incorporated as a non-profit organization that has since 2008 been officially named APOYOnline – Association for Heritage Preservation of the Americas Inc.
