Grantees Testimonials
"The conference was experiential. It allowed for networking, knowledge sharing, personal and professional development. More importantly, it allowed me to export for implementation, to my home country Jamaica, the lessons learnt to improve upon our preservation and conservation agenda. This undertaken would not be achieved without the support of the Getty Foundation and APOYOnline. The APOYOnline team lead by Beatriz Haspo made every single second of day a worthwhile experience. This was significant for me a non-Spanish speaker; they made it absolutely seamless. The care, support and guidance coupled with the sponsorship will certainly yield the return on investment at the National Library of Jamaica and similarly the warm customer engagement for APOYOnline will forever be etched as an indelible memory in my history."

“First of all, thanks to you (Beatriz) and Amparo for generating the links that have made possible, for so many years, this scholarship program that is an extraordinary help for professionals who work in Latin America. The experience as an intern is second to none. It allowed me to dedicate myself fully to training and updating activities in a context that was unattainable with our resources. Regarding this year's experience, the process of managing the air reservation was simple and the person in charge was very kind. No less important was the space for exchanging experiences with the other scholarship recipients. In addition to meeting professionals with whom I have met on other occasions, we have been able to make progress in outlining future projects. I think it is a very good time to consolidate shared projects. I finish these notes as I began, thank you, thank you very much, to you, to Amparo, to APOYOnline, to the AIC Foundation and obviously to the Getty Foundation for allowing me to be one of the scholarship recipients. “It is an honor to have been part of this experience.”

“First of all, I would like to thank you immensely for the opportunity that this scholarship has given me. This was my second scholarship and I feel privileged for it. It was an incredible exchange and I was able to meet conservatives from different countries. They were professionals from the United States and several Latin American countries, I also met Portuguese, Spanish, Russians and Slovaks. This experience brings people together and allows important bridges with work contacts. These contacts even allowed me to form some partnerships that are already underway with new work projects in Brazil, one in Porto Alegre, my city, and another in Goiás. An important role in making this happen was the work of Apoyonline. This association brings together professionals with languages and cultures closest to them, who sometimes face greater obstacles in being able to participate in an event of this size. Your support, in addition to allowing greater approximation, reinforces the security of being at an event that takes place in a language, and in a country, so different from our native”.

“The 4th Regional Conference was a
valuable experience for me as a professional in charge of Cuban heritage. It provided the possibility of
exchanging knowledge and broadening the cultural horizon of the participants. Reflections on the new
challenges for future work in cultural institutions, especially in museums, are varied and complex. The
master lectures of the specialists (workshops) on the last day of the event contributed to strengthen
knowledge and shorten distances. In this sense each of the participants of the 4th Regional Conference
APOYOnline became goodwill ambassadors of cultural heritage of the people of our America.”
